Name of lab equipment?

What do you call microfuge tubes with a little sieve in them? We used these in lab to filter a piece of agarose gel with DNA fragments from a digest, and I'm writing the report, but don't know what they're called. Thanks.

There's a little pond with some dirty water, which is contaminated with soil, bacteria, mineral salts and rocks. You are allowed to use all basic lab equipment, like heat, magnet, filters, etc..
i need to find a way to separate the components of the mixture and obtain a pure sample of drinkable water, also, separate the salt for further use…

any ideas??
